Traditionally, making bagels can be time-consuming, but D'BakerAid simplifies the process. With just a few steps, you can bake fresh, golden bagels right in your kitchen. Whether topped with cream cheese, smoked salmon, or enjoyed plain, your homemade bagels will be a hit with D'BakerAid’s precise fermentation and proofing features.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm non-chlorinated water
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 3 cups bread flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for boiling)

Instructions:

  1. Yeast Fermentation:

    • Use the D'Yeast 2.5L glass bowl.
    • Add 1 cup of warm non-chlorinated water, 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar.
    • Stir well, close the lid, and select the Yeast program on the panel.
    • Choose "Dry Yeast" and press Start. Wait for the fermentation to complete.
  2. Preparing the Dough:

    • Transfer the fermented yeast mixture to the D'Dough 4.5L glass bowl.
    • Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and 2.5 cups of bread flour.
    • Stir until the dough comes together, then knead until smooth and elastic.
    • Place the dough back into the D'Dough 4.5L bowl, close the lid, and place it on the Hub.
  3. Dough Proofing:

    • Select the Dough Proofing program and choose "White Dough."
    • Press Start and let the dough proof until it has doubled in size.
  4. Shaping and Boiling the Bagels:

    • After proofing, divide the dough into equal portions and shape into bagels (roll into balls and poke a hole in the middle, then stretch slightly).
    • Bring a large pot of water to a boil, adding 1 tablespoon of honey for extra shine and chew.
    • Boil the bagels for 1 minute on each side, then transfer them to a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  5. Baking the Bagels:

    • Fill D’Steamer with water up to 80% full, place it on the side of the oven, and wait for the oven to preheat.
    • Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Wait 12-15 minutes for the oven and D'Steamer to heat up;
    • Bake the bagels for 15-20 minutes or until they are golden brown.
  6. Serving:

    • Serve your freshly baked bagels warm with your favorite toppings, such as cream cheese, butter, or jam.
