Pita bread, with its soft, pocket-like structure, is a staple of Middle Eastern cuisine and beyond. Crafting this versatile bread traditionally can be a meticulous process, but D'BakerAid streamlines it for you. Now, you can create your own warm and fluffy pita bread right at home, effortlessly. Whether you fill it with savory falafel and tahini or use it as a dipper for hummus, our D'BakerAid ensures your pita is perfect every time. Ingredients:

  • 1 cup warm non-chlorinated water;
  • 2 teaspoons active dry yeast or ;
  • 1 tablespoon sugar;
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour;
  • 1 teaspoon salt;
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil.

Instructions:

1. Yeast Fermentation:

  • Use the D'Yeast 2.5L bowl;
  • Add 1 cup of room temperature non-chlorinated water;
  • Add 2 teaspoons of active dry yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar and 1-2 tablespoon of flour;
  • Stir well, close the lid and select the Yeast program on the panel;
  • Choose Dry Yeast and press Start. Wait for the program to finish.

2. Preparing the dough:

  • Transfer the fermented yeast mixture to the D'Dough 4.5L bowl;
  • Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, remaining flour(about 2.5 cups);
  • Stir until the dough comes together;
  • Knead the dough until smooth and elastic;
  • Place the dough into the D'Dough 4.5L bowl, close the lid, place it on the Hub.

3. Dough Proofing:

  • Select the Dough Proofing program and choose White or Mix Dough;
  • Press Start and let the dough proof until doubled in size.

4. Baking with Steam: 

  • Fill the steamer container with water up to 80% full and close the lid;
  • Place D'Steamer on the left or right side of the oven bottom (but not in the middle);
  • Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C);
  • Wait 10-15 minutes for the oven and D'Steamer to heat up;
  • Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into a 1/4 inch thick circle;
  • Place the circles on a baking tray and let them rest for 10 minutes;
  • Place the tray in the oven and bake for 5-7 minutes until the pitas puff up and are lightly browned.

5. Serving: 

Serve the freshly cooked pita bread warm with your favorite dips or fillings.
